Comparing and ordering decimal

What is this for?

This will help you see which number is bigger in decimal, like finding the least expensive on a pound of carrots.

Example 1

Compare the decimals, 3.28764 and 3.27846
First, look at the ones place. 3=3
Then, look at the tenths place. 3.2=3.
Next, look at the hundredths place. 3.28>3.27, since 8>7.
So, 3.28764>3.27846.

Example 2

Compare these from smallest to largest. 19.8, 20.7865, 19.95, and 20.334.
Annex '0's.
19.8 =19.8000
20.7865=20.7865
19.95 =19.9500
20.334 =20.3340
Now compare the numbers. 19.8000, 20.7865, 19.9500, 20.3340.
19.8000<20.7865>19.9500<20.3340
Then, try this. 19.8000<19.9500, 20.7865>20.3340.
So, 19.8<19.95<20.334<20.7865.

Example 3

Compare 0.5, 0.75 and 0.55.
Use a number line to help you.

According to the number line,the smallest is 0.5. The median is 0.55, and the biggest is 0.75.

Example 4

In Kroger, a pound of watermelon cost 0.65 dollars. In Farmer Market, a pound of watermelon cost 0.67 dollars. In Meijer, a
pound of watermelon cost 62 cents. Which is the least expensive?( Hint: 100 cents equal a dollar. So, 0.01 dollar equal a
cent.)
